BANGOR, Maine (AP) A New Yorker accused of shooting a woman because she insulted the mother of his children has been convicted of murder in Maine.

Carine Reeves was charged in the 2017 killing of Sally Shaw, who was left on the roadside in Cherryfield, in eastern Maine.

Reeves was the first person to stand trial for murder in Maine since courts were closed because of the pandemic.

A jury deliberated about four hours before convicting him on Monday.
