MACHIAS, Maine (AP) A New York woman charged in the 2017 death of a Maine woman whose body was found alongside a road in Cherryfield has pleaded guilty to lesser charges.

Quaneysha Greeley pleaded guilty Wednesday to hindering apprehension and trafficking drugs. The murder charges will be dismissed after she testifies against her co-defendant, another New Yorker who’s accused of fatally shooting 55-year-old Sally Shaw and leaving her body alongside the road.

Greeley’s attorney said his client was in the car but did not fire the fatal shot. He said Carine Reeves, a drug dealer who was in a relationship with the victim, got mad and killed her.

There was a delay in the case because Reeves faced an assault charge in New York. He was extradited after his conviction in July.
