BAR HARBOR, Maine (AP)   A National Park Service study says visitors at Acadia National Park last year spent an all-time high of $284 million.

The annual economic analysis released Monday shows more than half of the revenue came from lodging and camping and food and beverage. Gas, souvenirs, admissions and local transportation made up the rest of the revenue.

Officials say the local economy received a cumulative benefit of about $338 million.

Acadia attracted about 3.5 million recreation visits last year, an increase of 6.2 percent compared to 2016. The park was the seventh-most visited park in the U.S. in 2017.

Visitations at the park have increased since 2013.
