GORHAM, Maine (WGAN) Fire officials say an elderly Gorham woman died in a fire in her room at an assisted living facility.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office says 84-year-old Lynda Muccino died at Maine Medical Center on Wednesday. She had been hospitalized since Friday night, when the fire broke out at the Gorham House. She was being treated for burns and smoke inhalation.

Fire investigators say the blaze started when a table lamp fell on a bed.

This is the fifth fire death in the state this year.
