Investigators have identified two people who died as a result of a house fire in Levant on Monday.

The fire broke out around 3 a.m. at a home on Avenue Road.

Public Information Officer Shannon Moss says one of the victims in the fire is believed to be 29-year-old Eric Daly. More work was still being done Thursday by the medical examiner to confirm the identity.

Daly’s father, 78-year-old Charles Daly, died from injuries sustained in the fire. He was being treated for severe burns at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

Daly’s wife is recovering from smoke inhalation at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

Five people were living at the home.

Moss says the fire appears to have started in or near the furnace and is considered to be accidental.
