Old Town man dies in wreck on I-95 in Bangor

A man is dead after a crash early Friday morning on I-95 south in Bangor.

The Maine Dept. of Public Safety says 39-year-old Anthony Monroe, Sr. of Old Town was killed in a single vehicle wreck near the Broadway exit.

Public Information Officer Shannon Moss says Monroe struck a guardrail just after 3:30 a.m.

The vehicle then traveled across the road and struck the concrete barrier in the median.

Moss says Monroe was not wearing a seatbelt and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash is still under investigation.
