One Dead After Woman Drives Onto Baseball Field

SANFORD, Maine (WGAN) One person is dead after a car drove onto a baseball field in Sanford right before a Little League game. Police suspect Carol Sharrow of Sanford of driving onto the field at Goodall park last night and killing 68 year old Douglas Parkhurst of West Newfield.

The president of the Little League Association says 8, 9, and 10 year-olds were playing across the street and saw the incident happen.

Corporal Matthew Gagne of the Sanford Police Department said last night that police had at least 10 to 15 witness statements and still had calls coming in. He says several hundred people witnessed the incident and some have camera footage as well.

Sharrow is expected to face manslaughter charges. Police say the charge may be elevated and more charges could follow. Police are still investigating.
