One Dead in Sunday Structure Fire in Avon

Avon Fatal Fire - Maine Department of Public Safety


One person is dead from a structure fire in Avon on Sunday afternoon.

Police say the Phillips Fire Department and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office were sent to the reported fire at 259 Avon Valley Road in Avon at approximately 12:45 pm.

They say 37-year-old Issac Marston was found dead inside the residence.

The Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office was called to the scene, and a team of investigators responded to conduct a post-fire investigation.

The remains were taken to the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta for an autopsy and positive identification.

The Phillips Fire Department was assisted on scene by mutual aid departments. The investigation remains ongoing.
