One injured in crash that knocked out power for over 1,300 people

Over 1,300 people lost power in Portland Friday night after a vehicle crashed into a utility pole on Washington Ave.

The driver was taken to Maine Medical Center to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Portland Police Department.

According to the Portland Press Herald, the impact of the snapped the utility pole in half, causing 1,375 customers to lose power. According to Jonathan Breed of Central Maine Power, power was restored about 35 minutes later.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
