A wedding and reception in the Millinocket area that took place on August 7th has resulted in 123 coronavirus cases.

65 people attended the ceremony.

Maine’s CDC says one staff member at York County Jail attended that wedding ceremony. The York County Jail on Friday reported a total of 54 coronavirus cases.

York County Sheriff William King says 35 of those cases are among inmates and the rest are among staff. King says the jail was expecting another 35 test results on Friday, and about 50 more on Saturday or Sunday.

The state CDC says the additional cases at the jail will be added to Saturday’s statewide case total.

It also led to an outbreak at Maple Crest Rehabilitation Center in Madison, where there are now 9 cases.

The Big Moose Inn where the reception was held had it’s health license temporarily revoked after it was found that guests were not wearing masks and social distancing. By Friday, that license was reinstated, with Maine CDC saying the business had agreed to comply with the state’s health and safety mandates.

One woman who was infected as a result of the outbreak at the wedding has died.
