Monday’s storm left over 35,000 CMP customers without power, the majority of them residing in York where the community saw a mix of rain, snow and ice. Power restoration is expected to continue throughout the day as over 30,000 residents in York County were still without power Tuesday morning.

The storm also left nearly every home and business in Wells without power Monday morning and a half-dozen roads blocked by fallen trees according to CBS 13.

CMP says they have relocated 140 crews from other parts of the state to work on restoring power to York homes, where the work has been made difficult due to fallen trees and limbs.

Some inland communities saw as much as 15″ of snow, in addition to the snow left behind from Friday’s storm.

Many schools throughout the state closed Monday but are back in session today with a few exceptions in southern Maine such as Wells, Ogunquit and York.
