A home in Brunswick is a total loss after a fire tore through it early Friday.

Fire crews responded to the home on Chase Lane just after midnight.

The lone resident was able to get out safely.

Fire officials said extinguishing the blaze was difficult because the home was located outside of the hydrant area, requiring water to be trucked in.

The fire was under control by 2 a.m.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but it’s not believed to be suspicious.
