Many employees at the Regional School Unit 12 have been experiencing issues with their paychecks for the past two years.

Superintendent Rick Amero told the Portland Press Herald that although issues have gotten “much better” in their last pay period, they are still experiencing some technical difficulties.

Two weeks ago, 116 out of 400 employees reported receiving inaccurate paychecks. On Friday, Amero said it was only a handful of school members who still had issues with their pay.

School officials say they still don’t know what is causing these complications. A new software program that the district paid $80,000 for was implemented two months ago to combat the issues, only to see the paycheck inaccuracies continue with the next payroll cycle.

Amero says they have been working hard to correct the problem and are in contact with a representative of the software program to help them fix whatever discrepancies the system is experiencing.
