Peaks Island Search Continues for Massachusetts College Professor

The search continues at Peaks Island for 57-year-old Wiley Davi, who is a professor at Bentley University in Massachusetts.

The school has released a statement, saying they’re “hoping and praying for Wiley’s safe return.”

“Wiley is a longtime and respected professor and a friend to students, faculty and staff on our campus,” the statement said. “Our hearts and minds are with Wiley, their loved ones and the first responders who are leading the search.”

Davi was last known to be on the island Saturday evening, and there’s been an ongoing search along Peak Island trails and off its shoreline.

Agencies involved in the search effort include the Maine Warden Service, Maine Marine Patrol, Portland Police Department, Maine Search and Rescue Dogs, Maine Association for Search and Rescue, Portland Fire Department, Brunswick Police Department and U.S. Coast Guard.

Davi is about 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs approximately 155 pounds. Anyone with any information regarding Davi’s whereabouts is asked to call Portland police at 207-874-8479.

Davi is a professor in the English and Media Studies department at Bentley University. The school is located in Waltham, Massachusetts, west of Boston, and is about 10 minutes from Boston by car, according to CBS News Boaton.
