A pedestrian is dead after being hit by a car Saturday night on Main Street in Buxton.

According to our info partners at CBS 13, the crash happened around 5:45pm, in the area of Salmon Falls Road. When responders arrived on scene, a 66- year-old woman was lying in the road after being struck by a car, and died on the scene.

Buxton Police said a 17 year-old male from Windham drove the car that hit the woman. The names of those involved have not been released, and the crash remains under investigation.
