Pedestrian Killed Crossing Road in New Gloucester

Cumberland County Sheriff's Office

Cumberland County deputies say a 64-year-old woman is dead after being hit while trying to cross a road in New Gloucester Saturday night.

They say they were called to 1100 Lewiston Road at 8:40 pm, and an investigation found Stacy Strattard of Gray was hit while crossing the road by a 2016 Ford Fusion driven by 49-year-old Mukendi Mbiya of Lewiston.

Deputies say driver impairment was not a factor in the crash.

An investigation is ongoing.

The crash is being investigated by the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division and the Gorham Police Department Crash Reconstruction Unit. The Maine Forest Service assisted at the scene.
