Pedestrian Killed in Standish Crash

STANDISH, Maine (WGAN) A pedestrian is killed in a crash in Standish on Monday.

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office says the crash happened on Whites Bridge Road near Pond Road just after noon. 20-year-old Nicholas Breed of Topsham was driving west when he left the roadway and struck a pedestrian walking along the road.

The pedestrian was identified as 69-year-old Eileen Garroway of Standish. She died at the scene.

The road was closed as investigators worked to reconstruct the crash but has since re-opened.
