Pedestrian reportedly struck, killed by train in Auburn

An accident involving a train and a pedestrian is under investigation in Auburn.

Auburn Police Chief Jason Moen says the incident occurred just after 6 a.m. Tuesday near Washington Street.

According to the Bangor Daily News, a Pan AM Railways spokesperson said it’s believed that the individual had been trespassing on railroad property.

No further details were immediately released by Moen or the spokesperson.

CBS 13 reported that the individual was struck and killed by the train.

The accident remains under investigation.
