Maine State Police say a man died when he was struck by a pickup truck on Route 1 in Hancock Wednesday morning.

Police say 57-year-old Shawna Hardison of Lamoine was driving northbound when her vehicle struck the man while he was in the roadway.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and identified as 67-year-old Edwin Rowe of Hancock.

Police say the weather and poor visibility appear to have been factors in the crash, which occurred at about 6:15 a.m.

Rowe was wearing dark clothing and the stretch of road where he was struck has no streetlights.

Hardison was not injured in the crash.

A press release from police made no mention of possible charges.

The accident still under investigation.
