The trial of a Maine man whose 11-month-old daughter nearly died of a fentanyl overdose is underway.

According to CBS 13 news, prosecutors said 28-year-old Zachary Borg of Corinna was using fentanyl in his home in June of 2021 when some of it was misplaced. The following morning, his daughter was rushed to the hospital to be treated for an overdose.

Borg is charged with furnishing drugs to a minor, endangering the welfare of a child, and domestic violence reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon, with that weapon being fentanyl.
