LIMERICK, Maine (WGAN) The armed robbery suspect who was shot and killed by a York County Sheriff’s deputy Friday night has been identified as a 16-year-old boy from Limerick.

York County Sheriff William King announced Monday that Christopher Camacho was fatally shot by Deputy Robert Carr. He said the teen died of a single gunshot wound, and that it happened after Carr responded to reports of an armed robbery in progress at the Dollar General in Limerick.

Deputy Carr has been placed on administrative leave while the Maine Attorney General’s office conducts it’s investigation, which is standard procedure following a police-involved shooting.
