Two people escaped a house fire in Berwick on Friday.

According to our info partners at CBS 13 News, the fire happened on Hubbard Road.

Investigators say the blaze started in the garage and caused heavy smoke damage to the house. A dog did not make it out alive.

The fire remains under investigation.
