A road in Hollis was shut down Wednesday afternoon after a small airplane made an emergency landing.

Deputies were dispatched to Killick Pond Road around 2 p.m. for a report of a plane that made an emergency landing near the Poland Spring building.

Deputies arrived to find a Cessna Model 180 plane parked in front of the building. The pilot, 57-year-old Joseph Bowen of Norway, said he had to land the plane due to being low on fuel.

The road was expected to be blocked off while the plane was refueled.

It wasn’t immediately clear if anyone was injured.
