Shots were fired near the mall on December 18, 2024, with bullets striking a vehicle in the parking lot of Kobe Steakhouse. There were no injuries.

South Portland Police said 21-year-old Jonathan Hanson of Buxton was taken into custody after investigators tracked him to a home in Buxton around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.

He faces several charges including criminal threatening and reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon.

Hanson was arraigned Wednesday, with bail set at $10,000 cash.
