An Augusta woman is charged with OUI after police say she crashed into three police cruisers Friday night in South Portland.

Police said a report came in about an erratic driver near Maine Mall Road who fled the scene in her vehicle while an officer who had stopped her was awaiting backup.

Police say, 47-year-old Celena Celeste Smith, went through multiple parking lots and re-entered Maine Mall Road, striking three police cruisers in the process.

Smith was arrested after her vehicle was boxed in by police.

She was taken to a local until hospital before she was cleared medically and then taken to Cumberland County Jail.

She faces several charges including violating conditions of release, assault, and OUI.

There were no serious injuries.

The damage to the three cruisers is considered minor, but two of them will need repairs before they can be driven again.
