Police arrest suspect accused of breaking into Portland apartment and beating a woman

Portland Police have charged the suspect in an assault and home invasion that happened last month.

A 62-year-old woman told police someone broke into her Congress Street apartment and severely beat her in the early morning on Jan. 19.

On Monday, police arrested 53-year-old Stephen Brichetto and charged him with aggravated assault and burglary.

Anyone who has information about the incident is asked to contact Portland Police.
