Police charge Sanford woman who crashed into Westbrook Inn

A Sanford woman who police say crashed her car into an apartment building last week is facing drug charges.

The crash happened at the Westbrook Inn overnight on Friday.

According to CBS 13 news, police say 28-year-old Claire Boynton went through a stop sign at the intersection of Cumberland Street and Warren Avenue, driving on to the median, taking out a stop sign, and then crashing into the building’s front porch.

Damage to the building caused 20 residents to be displaced.

Police charged Boynton with OUI and drug possession.
