Police: Dixmont Woman Injured During Altercation Involving Firearm


DIXMONT, Maine (WGAN) The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office says a woman was injured during an altercation involving a firearm.

Police say they responded to the altercation on Moosehead Trail in Dixmont around 4:15 on Tuesday afternoon. During a struggle for the firearm between two men, the gun went off, hitting a woman who was inside the home. She was brought to Sebasticook Valley Hospital in Pittsfield with non-life threatening injuries where she was treated and releaseD.

Police are still investigating the incident and it will be reviewed by the District Attorney’s Office.
