Portland police say a man was set to be arraigned Friday in connection with a killing that took place in the city in 2016.

The Portland Police Department said Friday that 23-year-old Aristotle Stilley, formerly of South Portland, was extradited from California earlier this week and was expected to be arraigned in court on Friday afternoon.

He was indicted for the killing of David Anderson in 2016. Police say Anderson was shot after someone knocked on the door of his apartment on Gilman Street, then fired several rounds through the closed door, killing him.

Stilley was indicted in August of 2020, and arrested by police in Sacramento, California in October. He was taken into custody and transported back to Maine this week.
