BUCKFIELD, Maine (WGAN)  A vehicle involved in a police chase Thursday morning has been found abandoned in a field in Buckfield.

Our info partners at Channel 8 report Maine State Police are searching the area for the car’s occupants.  A plane and state police tactical team are involved in the search.

The chase started around 10 a.m. Thursday morning in Lewiston when an officer tried to pull the car over because it matched the description of a car involved in a home invasion Wednesday in Greene.

The home is owned by a licensed marijuana caregiver and police say three men showed up at the home and they believe they were there to steal the drug.

Police say the driver the car refused to stop and police chased it into Auburn, then Minot before losing it.
