GARDINER, Maine (WGAN)  State Police have identified the two people killed in a murder-suicide in Gardiner.

State Police say the woman who was shot to death by her husband Tuesday is 44-year-old Autumn Bryant.

The husband is 48-year-old Kenneth Bryant, who shot and killed himself.

Police say the estranged couple lived in Livermore Falls and the wife had been staying at her brother’s home in Gardiner in recent months since she became separated from her husband in November. It was at that house in Gardiner where the two bodies were found.

Police say in a related investigation, the State Fire Marshals Office says the residents of the house that was destroyed by fire in Sidney Tuesday morning are related to the dead woman.

The lakefront house on Messalonskee Lake is owned by Lawrence Gilman.  Gilman’s wife, Terry, is the mother of Autumn Bryant.

The house on Poppy Lane was unoccupied as the Gilmans live in Florida during the winter months and were notified of the fire and the death yesterday.

Fire investigators say the cause of the fire remains under investigation and they are coordinating their efforts with State Police.
