A man charged with homicide in Pennsylvania was arrested in Maine.

Police say they pulled over a vehicle in Auburn around 10 p.m. Wednesday. They said the passenger, later identified as 39-year-old James Gaines of New York, gave them a false name.

Police say Gaines was out on parole for homicide in Pennsylvania and was wanted for a parole violation.

Gaines is awaiting extradition back to Pennsylvania while being held at Androscoggin County Jail.
