Police in Portland say they’ve seen another uptick in overdoses.

The department says there have been 11 overdose fatalities so far this year, out of 96 overdoses in total. They said Tuesday that in the last five days, there had been nine drug overdoses, three of them fatal.

Police are urging the public to be aware of available access to Narcan as well as overdose recognition and response training, both of which are available through the Portland Public Health Division at no cost.
