An ATM was destroyed in Farmington in what police believe was an attempted theft.

Farmington police say they responded to a report of suspicious activity at the University Credit Union on High Street around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday to find the ATM destroyed. The suspects fled before officers arrived.

A stolen Ford pickup truck was found abandoned on the property. The owner told police they didn’t know it had been stolen and are cooperating with the investigation.
