Police investigate fatal crash in Portland

PORTLAND, Maine (WGAN) Police say a Cumberland man was killed in a crash in Portland on Thursday morning.

Portland Police responded to a report of a crash at 7:38 a.m. on Veranda Street at the I-295 South interchange. They say A 2005 Lincoln Town Car being driven by 81-year-old Nicholas Hamp from Cumberland Foreside collided with a 2015 Toyota RAV4 operated by Chun Ying Xu of Freeport.

Hamp was pronounced dead at the scene.

No word yet on the condition of Xu.

Police are investigating the crash and asking anyone who witnessed it to give them a call.
