Police investigate fatal shooting in Winthrop

Maine State Police say the death of a man in Winthrop has been ruled a homicide.

The State Police Major Crimes Unit said Monday that the man, now identified as 30-year-old Joshua Martin, was shot to death at a Squire Court residence on Saturday night.

Martin, formerly of Rochester, New York, was last known to be staying in the Augusta area.

Police are still investigating the circumstances of Martin’s death, and will review the evidence as well as autopsy results.
