Police investigate hit-and-run in Waldo County

LIBERTY, Maine (WGAN) The Waldo County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help as they investigate a hit-and-run that left one person seriously injured.

Police say a man walking along Route 220 near 978 Pinnacle Road in Liberty was hit by a passing vehicle around 2:30 a.m. on Thursday.

The vehicle involved in the incident did not stop and the driver did not call for medical assistance. A passing motorist discovered the victim lying injured in the road.

Anyone traveling in that area of Liberty in the early morning hours on Thursday is being asked to contact the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office.
