Police Investigate Homicide in Palmyra

Maine State Police are investigating a shooting death at a home in Palmyra.

Officers were sent to 531 Madawaska Road at about 1:33 am Wednesday and found the body of 28-year-old Jaquan Humphries of Mattapan, Massachusetts, who had been living in the home.

It was determined that he died from gunshot wounds, and his death was ruled a homicide.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and there is no known threat to the public.

Humphries’ body was transported to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta, where an autopsy was performed.
