Police investigate murder-suicide in Waldo County

Police are investigating a murder-suicide in the town of Searsmont.

The bodies of two people were found inside of a residence on Borough Road Monday afternoon.

The death of 50-year-old Amy Nickerson of Stockton Springs has been ruled a homicide, while the death of 50-year-old Lance Lucas of Searsmont was ruled a suicide.

Maine State Police say the two were domestic partners who had recently broken up. Both died of gunshot wounds.

Investigators are still looking into the events that led up to the murder suicide.
