Police Investigating Discovery of a Body in Augusta

AUGUSTA (WGME) – Augusta police say they found an unidentified body while following up on a missing person case Thursday night.

State police confirm officers have been looking in a particular area on Weeks Mills Road in Augusta, though they will not say where exactly the body was found.

Officers were on Weeks Mills Road well into the night Thursday.

The identity of the body is still unknown at this time, but the State Medical Examiner’s Office tells CBS 13 there will be an update Friday.
