Maine State Police say a missing three-year-old girl was found safe after an Amber Alert was issued Friday morning.

Police did not immediately say where the girl was located but said further details would be released later Friday.

Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland said in a press release Friday morning that an Amber Alert had been issued, and police were looking for Audrey Laferriere.

McCausland said the girl may be in danger and was with her parents, April Levesque, 37, of Van Buren and Alex Laferriere, 39, of Chester.

Police said in the release that they were looking for a vehicle that the girl and her parents were believed to be riding in, a 1985 gray Ford Crown Victoria with a 5-inch-wide maroon stripe on the exterior.

At the time, police said if anyone spots the vehicle, the girl or her parents, they should call 9-1-1 immediately.
