Police locate driver involved in Pittsfield hit-and-run

Police have located the driver of a vehicle that reportedly struck two people who were walking along Higgins Rd. in Pittsfield Wednesday night.

Pittsfield police say a 61-year-old man suffered serious injuries when he was struck by the vehicle just before 8 p.m.

He was taken by Life Flight to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.

A 69-year-old woman was also hurt.

She was taken to Northern Light Sebasticook Valley Hospital in Pittsfield.

Police say the driver of the vehicle didn’t stop.

The Department posted about the incident on Facebook, hoping the public could help them identify the driver and locate the vehicle.

Police did not immediately provide the name of the driver or say whether the individual was facing charges.
