Police release identities of victims in fatal head-on crash in Lewiston

Police have released the identities of the three people killed in a serious crash in Lewiston on Wednesday.

Police said 68-year-old Paul Dalessandro of Brunswick was driving inbound on Lisbon Street around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. His wife, 68-year-old Judith Montgomery was a passenger, along with their dog. The couple and the dog died at the scene after colliding head-on with an oncoming vehicle.

The driver of that second vehicle, 34-year-old John McBean Jr. of Connecticut and New Hampshire, was taken to Central Maine Medical Center where he died.

All of the victims had to be extricated from their vehicles by firefighters.

Police are still investigating to determine the cause of the accident.
