Police are investigating a pair of break-ins Wednesday on Peaks Island.

Portland police say officers responded to a burglary on Island Avenue overnight Wednesday morning.

The residents told the Peaks Island News that they chased three intruders away, who damaged a door while fleeing.

Police believe the same suspects were involved in another burglary around the same time.

Portland Police Chief Brad Nadeau says the last recorded burglary on the island was in 2020.
