Police say Scarborough bank robbery suspect may have been involved in hit-and-run while fleeing

Police are searching for a suspect in a robbery at a Scarborough bank on Wednesday.

The robbery was reported around 1:40 p.m. at the Chase Bank on Hannaford Drive, where the suspect made off with an undisclosed amount of money but didn’t show a weapon.

Police said the suspect fled in a maroon Chevrolet Trailblazer with out-of-state plates, which may have later been involved in a hit-and-run crash on Gorham Road near Mussey Road before fleeing northbound on Gorham Road.

The suspect is a white male in his late 20s with blond hair and stubble on his face.

He was wearing a gray sweater along with black sunglasses, jeans and tennis shoes.
