Police Say Speed a Factor in Fatal Springvale Crash

SANFORD, Maine (WGAN) Sanford Police and Fire Departments have identified the woman killed in a single car crash in Springvale.

Police say 29-year-old Aurora Smith of South Berwick was killed Sunday evening when the pickup truck she was driving left the roadway, flipped on to it’s side and collided with a tree. Smith was traveling east on Oak Street at the intersection of Hanson Ridge Road when the crash happened. She was declared dead at the scene.

Investigators say speed was a factor in the accident. The investigation is ongoing.
