BATH, Maine (AP)  Police say a school bus driver took cellphone photos up the skirts of six children he transported from school and special events.

Bath police say they charged 50-year-old Timothy McGowan with violation of privacy.

Police say police and school staff identified the female children photographed as elementary, middle and high school students.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security found the photos uploaded to a foreign website.

Police say they used a subpoena and email traces to identify McGowan, who’s been placed on leave. Police say a bus service conducted background checks on McGowan before hiring him.

Efforts to reach McGowan were unsuccessful Saturday. He’s due in West Bath District Court on July 7.

McGowan faces up to 364 days in jail and a $2,000 fine if convicted.
