Police Recover Body Of Skydiver Following Failed Jump

LEBANON, Maine (WGAN) Searchers have recovered the body of a skydiver who became separated from a parachute in Lebanon on Thursday afternoon.

Corporal John MacDonald of the Maine Warden Service says the body of 41-year-old Brett Bickford of Rochester, New Hampshire was found just before 5:30 Friday evening. State Troopers and Game Wardens found his body about 750 feet away from the Lebanon Airport runway.

Bickford, a skydiving instructor, was performing a tandem jump with a student when the two became separated around 2pm thursday. The student landed safely.

The incident is still being investigated.
