UMaine police have determined that there’s no danger to students or staff following an alleged threat made over social media.

Police are looking for 20-year-old Afshin Zarechian of Manchester, New Hampshire. They say he’s connected to the threat that was made online targeting the University of Maine on Saturday, but have not said whether or not he’s been named as a suspect.

Police say they don’t believe he’s in the area, and classes were continuing as normal on Monday.

Police say Zarechian is 5’9″, with dark hair, eyes and skin complexion. He’s driving an older model green BMW with New Hampshire plate RICCH.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
