Police: Suspicious Death in Bangor Ruled Homicide

BANGOR, Maine (WGAN) Police say a suspicious death in Bangor has been ruled a homicide.

According to Detective Sergeant Brent Beaulieu, police responded to the apartment on 40 Second Street on Wednesday morning at around 9:45 to a report of an unresponsive person. There they found the body of 51-year-old Israel Lewis.

An autopsy performed Thursday morning concluded that Lewis’s death was a homicide. Police don’t believe there is any threat to the public.

Anyone with information regarding Mr. Lewis is encouraged to contact the Bangor Police Department.

The investigation is ongoing and police have not yet released any further information.
